The laboratory has equipment for tissue culture studies, including laminar flow, biological hood and CO₂ incubator. In addition, researchers can make use of upright and inverted fluorescence microscopes, and a temperature-controlled centrifuge.
A special grant from the Smith family has enabled us to add an entire new set-up for modern molecular biology, which includes PCR system, gel-documentation system, a system for running gel electrophoresis, a new spectrophotometer and all the required accessory equipment such as incubators, shakers, etc.

This set up was purchased especially to provide the opportunity for researchers in the field of psychobiology to include in their studies the most advanced molecular biology methodologies, even if their own home laboratories are not so equipped.
