Second Youdim Lecture with Prof. Helen S.Mayberg, MD of Emory University.
Professor Moussa Youdim is internationally renowned for his development of drugs to treat depressive illnesses and neurodegenerative diseases. When he was just a young scientist, Prof. Youdim received support from the National Institute for Psychobiology for his pioneering work. He presently serves as member of the Institute's Board of Trustees and Scientific Advisory Committee. He has now generously contributed to NIPI and established an annual lectureship in memory of his father, to be called "The Eliahu Khanbaba Youdim Memorial Lecture".
This year's lecture will be held on Monday, May 21 in Jerusalem. Our invited speaker this year is Prof. Helen S. Mayberg, MD of Emory University.
Professor Mayberg's topic will be "Rethinking depression and its treatment: Insights from studies of Deep Brain stimulation."
Helen S. Mayberg is Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology and Radiology at Emory University School of Medicine.
