Prof. Wolters received his MD degree from the State University of Utrecht, and his Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam. He obtained his neurological training at the Neurological Department of the University of Amsterdam. He served with the faculty of this University until 1984, when he joined the Department of Neurology and the Research Institute of Neuroscience at the Vrije University Medical Center in Amsterdam. In 2000, he was appointed as full professor in neurology. Prof. Wolters is active in the field of movement disorders and has organized various international congresses. He is a member of several national and international neurological societies, corresponding member of the American Neurological Association and executive member of the World Federation of Neurology Research Group on Parkinsonism and Related Disorders. Prof. Wolters has written numerous publications and neurological textbooks. |
