Mr. Smith is Chairman of the Board of Charles E. Smith Residential Realty, Inc., a publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust.
He also serves as President of Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty, Inc., an affiliate company that specializes in the management of over 103 office buildings.
He brings to each Smith Company the benefit of 50 years experience in all phases of office and residential development, construction and management.
Mr. Smith has been active in civic affairs as well, lending his energy and expertise to a variety of local, national and international organizations.

Mr. Smith has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Institute for Psychobiology in Israel since its inception. He has considerably expanded the commitment of the Charles E. Smith Family to the Institute. He maintains a close interest in the scientific achievements of the Institute and of the Smith Family Laboratory for Collaborative Research in Psychobiology and regularly participates in the meetings of the Board of Trustees.
